Iqama is the official residency and work permit card issued to all foreign nationals working in Saudi Arabia. It must be carried at all times.
Ajeer is an official Saudi government platform that allows workers to legally work for multiple employers on a temporary or part-time basis.
You can change your employer through the official Absher platform. Processing takes 3–7 business days.
Log in to Absher (absher.sa) using your Iqama number
Go to "My Services" → "Transfer of Sponsorship"
Enter new employer's details and CR number
Submit and await MHRSD approval via SMS notification
Can my employer cancel my Iqama without notice?
No. Your employer must provide written notice and a valid reason. You have the right to file a complaint with MHRSD.
What happens if my Iqama expires?
Working with an expired Iqama results in fines and possible deportation. Renew at least 30 days before expiry through Absher or Jawazat offices.
Can I bring my family on a work visa?
Yes, once your Iqama is issued, you can apply for dependent visas for your spouse and children, subject to minimum salary requirements.
Is the Ajeer program available for all job types?
Ajeer is primarily designed for blue-collar and technical workers. Availability depends on your Iqama category and employer agreement.
