This section provides basic information for the benefit and use of taxpayers seeking to import vehicles. This document outlines the conditions laid down under Import Policy Order and the structure of the duty and taxes.
New vehicles can be imported into Pakistan freely by any one against payment of duty & taxes under generally applicable import procedures and requirements.
Pakistani nationals residing abroad including dual nationals can import old and used vehicles into Pakistan under the following 03 schemes:
- Personal Baggage
- Gift Scheme
- Transfer of Residence
Limit of the used Car under this Scheme
Cars not older than 03 years and other vehicles not older than 05 years can be imported under these schemes. (7) seven-seater should not be more than five (5) years old.
Payment of Custom Duty
In order to pay customs duty, the sender of the vehicle from the state must also transfer the amount of duty from outside. Duty will be collected on the arrival of the vehicle in Pakistan.
Also, upon arrival of the vehicle in Pakistan, the customs officials calculate the duty according to the vehicle based on the letter issued by the embassy or consulate. This completes the process of vehicle transfer.
Is there any Monthly Income Limit for Sending a Vehicle to Pakistan?
There is no minimum monthly income limit for sending a vehicle to Pakistan, but the applicant must stay in the country for two (2) consecutive years or more.

Documents Required for the Car Gift Scheme
The following documents are required for the car gift scheme.
- Copy of Saudi Iqama.
- Certificate of monthly Salary certified by the Chamber of Commerce.
- Copy of passport that was stamped upon the first arrival to Saudi Arabia.
- Photocopy of the identity card of the nominated person that is being gifted with the car in Pakistan.
