AIR HOSTESSES RECEIVED 7 MILLION RIYALS
A Moroccan air hostess filed a lawsuit against a local aviation company. She said that they had not been paid for several months. She had been associated with the company for the last four years. She was not given annual leave at that time and was not given the rights to terminate her job.
Then she filed the case against the company. Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah labor court ruled in favor of the air hostess and ordered the company to pay 7 million riyals to the air hostess. The court sent many notices to the aviation company but they did not come to court. The court uses its power and made a legal representative of the company. Finally, the company representative appeared in court and was given a chance to be cleared. The representative called for time to present the company position and the action was postponed until the next hearing, but the company representative did not appear in the next several proceedings. The court decided to pay air hostess 7 million riyals. Saudi legal adviser MAHDULDIN YEMANI commented on the court’s decision saying that the labor court made the decision in accordance with Saudi labor laws. All airline transactions will be suspended until payment was not paid to the air hostess.
