ANOTHER RULE FROM PTA ABOUT TAXI DRIVERS
PTA(public transport authority) stated that
“The taxi will be confiscated in the case if the driver of the taxi will not use the meter or if the driver does not operate the meter after collecting passengers then the driver will have to take passengers for free”. This order is also apply to public taxis, family taxis and airport taxis and the PTA has informed all taxi owners in this regard. If the taxi driver will not on the meter then the ride will be considered free of charge. Saudi public transport authority has said that the companies that wish to get a family taxi license can start a business even if there have 5 vehicles.
CONDITIONS FOR OBTAINING THE FAMILY TAXI LICENSE
- Vehicle will be new.
- The vehicle will not registered in the state or abroad.
FINE ON DRIVERS IF THEY NOT OPERATE THE METER IN TAXI
If the drivers not use the meter then the driver will take passenger to free and fined 3,000 riyals.
