MODERN BUS STATIONS IN MAKKAH
- According to local news website urge, the Saudi government is pursuing a policy of modernizing all areas of the country, especially in MAKKAH city, especially public transport. According to the Saudi vision 2030, public transport will be updated.
- Construction of a public transport project infrastructure has been started in MAKKAH. Major and sub bus stations will be set up in most areas of MAKKAH. The governor of MAKKAH with the MAKKAH development authority PRINCE KHALID AL-FAISAL has begun the first phase of the public transport project with a contract of 400 buses.
- According to the program, major bus stations will be set up in MAKKAH. There will be more than 500 substations. They will be built on more than 300km long routes. There will be 12 special bus routes set up to operate the buses without interruption. Ten bridges will be built to cross the highways and travel from one station to another. They will be equipped with elevators so that seniors and the disabled have no problem getting to the bus station and crossing the highways.
- All buses will have a small transport device and a control system for traffic signals. The public transport project in MAKKAH is being implemented under the direction of SHAH SALMAN BIN ABDUL AZIZ. It has been approved the operation of buses and trains in MAKKAH. The MAKKAH development authority has vowed to expedite the implementation of a public transport plan in the holy city so that the problems faced by the visitors to MAKKAH are resolved as soon as possible.
